Saturday, October 11th, 2014 is the date of the annual OMS Reunion get-together and banquet. This is the 50th anniversary for those who graduated in 1964 and the 60th for those who graduated in 1954.
CLICK HERE for a Reservation Form for the Banquet to be held at the Red Door Bar & Grill, Route 45 and Route 24 just across the road from the Super 8 Motel is on the next page. A cocktail hour, cash bar, will begin at about 6:00 PM followed by dinner at 7:00 PM. The dinner will be $25.00 per person. Return the reservation form and your check made payable to OMS Alumni Association to Bob Gillfillan at the address on the form no later than Friday, September 26th, 2014. Please do not call the Red Door directly if you have a late RSVP - you must call Bob Gillfillan, 1-708-452-6528 or e-mail (email@example.com) no later than October 8th, 2014. This is the last day reservations can be made. Last year considering everything, gas prices, we had 45 Alumni for dinner. Let's try to match or beat last year's turn out.
A block of rooms at the Super 8 Motel in Gilman, has been reserved for Friday October 10th and Saturday October 11th. The telephone number for the Super 8 Motel is 1-815-265-7000 and ask for the manager. Make sure to mention that you are with the Onarga Military School Alumni Association for a special rate of $50.88 plus tax for a room with one bed, and $60.88 plus tax for a room with two beds.
Our business meeting will be held in the Auditorium. Pictures and other memorablia will be on display in our Alumni room on the lower level.
We are not scheduling a golf outing, inasmuch as no one signed up the past several years, but if you want to play on your own, we will be pleased to assist you in making arrangements, or you can call Shagbark Golf Club direct at 1-815-268-7308.
If anyone has something they would like on the agenda for discussion, please send it to me no later than October 8th, 2014.
So as to give our ladies something to do, arrangements can be made for them to spend the afternoon at the Gilman Spa.
Also in Onarga - the Onarga Historical Society will be open so that visitors can see what Onarga looked like in years past. There is also some OMS memorabilia on display there which will be returned to our new alumni room once it is completed.
